The ADDIE model is very famous in the training industry as it is traditional process. Even this particular model has been proved as the most effective training programs. Both the training developers and the instructional designers follow the ADDIE model in order to provide the required training program for the employees (Oliveira et al. 2013). Several training models have been based on ADDIE model and the rectilinear model is just like that. The fundamental of the rectilinear models is the ADDIE model. The rectilinear models often represent the instructional design as a perfect series of the boxes that are perfectly connected by the straight lines. Most of the critics have criticized the rectilinear model as this can be measured as the waterfall process (Perotto 2013).
